In Cameroon, 6 out of 10 regions have a prevalence of stunting or chronic malnutrition of more than 30 percent. However, the country does not recognize the magnitude of the stunting problem in children. Over 31 percent of children under the age of 5 are stunted.
We partner with mothers and families to provide education and resources to empower women, improve nutrition in the first 1,000 days of life, and secure the nutritional and economic status of the community as a whole.
In Cameroon, 1 in 4 children under the age of five is stunted due to malnutrition.
Studies show the first 1,000 days of life, in womb through 24 months, are the most critical for cognitive development.
